 Whiting is an unincorporated community located in Manchester Township on the west side of Ocean County, New Jersey. It is home to various retirement communities such as the Crestwood Village communities, Country Walk, The Meadows at Lake Ridge, Lennar at Lake Ridge, Whiting Station, and Pine Ridge. The quiet affordable communities are nestled within the many hamlets, towns and southern New Jersey counties which in 1978 Congress established as the country’s first National Reserve. Residents of Whiting's Lennar at Lake Ridge will discover nearby historic villages, tours of the site of the Hindenburg disaster in Lakehurst, and discover berry, corn and horse farms amid the vast oak-pine forests. The serenity of the area also provides easy access to the Jersey Shore (within half an hour) and is located more or less an hour’s ride from Philadelphia, Atlantic City and New York City.
